The assessment of green campuses in the UI GreenMetric 2026 requires concrete evidence of environmental preservation program implementation in the field. Administrative documents alone are insufficient to demonstrate institutional commitment.
This was conveyed by the Coordinator of the Quality Assurance and University Reputation Unit (SPMRU) UGM, Sentagi Sesotya Utami, during a mentoring discussion for the Sustainability Campus Action program with the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) UGM on Wednesday (22/4).
“Completing the UI GreenMetric form requires a precise track record. FKG UGM’s plans, such as rainwater harvesting systems and digital waste data management, are strengths that must be well documented so the faculty’s achievements can be optimally recorded,” Sentagi emphasized.
The Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni Affairs of FKG UGM, Trianna Wahyu Utami, agreed with this direction. She explained that the faculty had designed five priority programs to ensure sustainability targets are achieved optimally.
“We designed five specific activities so their implementation would be thorough and their impact directly felt. We collaborate with various partners so that these environmental preservation efforts can provide broad benefits to society,” said Trianna.
The five priority programs include: Data-based waste management, greenhouse gas emission studies, clean water provision, initiation of international partnerships, and transformation of the faculty cafeteria into a scholarship funding source .
The Head of the Administrative Office of FKG UGM, Wulansari, confirmed the faculty’s readiness in terms of resources to carry out these programs as part of daily routines.
“We incorporate sustainability principles into our everyday operational activities. For example, we are restructuring the management of Dentika Cafeteria so that its profits can support student scholarships,” Wulansari explained.
