Management Review Meeting Discusses Quality Assurance and Follow-Up Plans

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held a Management Review Meeting on 2 December 2024, to discuss quality assurance and the necessary follow-up measures to enhance education and services in an era of rapid change. The meeting was attended by the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. Drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., along with heads of study programs at FKG UGM.

In his opening remarks, Dean Suryono emphasized the importance of quality assurance to ensure the institution's sustainability amid ongoing changes. "I believe FKG UGM can adapt to external changes with strong quality assurance, strengthening public trust in our institution," he stated.

Yanuarti Retnaningrum, Sp.Ort (K), Manager of the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) Program, reported that AMI activities had been conducted across all study programs at FKG UGM, including undergraduate, master's, doctoral, professional, and specialist programs. Findings from these audits will serve as a basis for further evaluation and improvements. Dr. Ninung also invited input from the attendees regarding follow-up actions.

drg. Rosa Amalia, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, addressed the issue of low international student enrollment at FKG UGM, particularly in professional and specialist programs. "This is a challenge for us," she said. She stressed the importance of international students not only for enriching the learning experience on campus but also for strengthening academic networks globally and enhancing FKG UGM’s international competitiveness.

Additionally, Rosa presented the results of a tracer study , which gathered feedback from alumni of postgraduate programs. Some alumni raised concerns about aspects of their academic experience, which will be taken into account for future program development. "We will create more focused questions to better understand what students truly need to support their education," Rosa stated.

Study Program Follow-Up Plans
The meeting continued with presentations of follow-up plans from various study programs at FKG UGM. A total of 12 study programs participated, consisting of 2 undergraduate programs, 1 professional program, 2 master's programs, 1 doctoral program, and 6 specialist programs. Each program outlined concrete steps to further improve the quality of education, research, and community service.

Through this Management Review Meeting, FKG UGM reaffirms its commitment to maintaining high standards in education and research while adapting to changes in higher education. This meeting served as an important platform to strengthen the implementation of the university’s three pillars: education, research, and community service (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi).
