Yogyakarta, 24-25 October 2024 – The Periodontics Study Program of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), held a hybrid workshop on revising its vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan, along with a curriculum redesign workshop at Hotel Tentrem.
The event aimed to align the Periodontics program with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in ensuring access to quality and sustainable education. By evaluating the foundational elements of the program, FKG UGM aspires to enhance educational quality and adapt the curriculum to meet the evolving demands of the periodontics profession.
The workshop was attended by lecturers, residents, alumni, and stakeholders of the Periodontics Study Program at FKG UGM. The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs provided strategic guidance on behalf of the faculty. Representatives from the Sleman Regency Health Office also joined to share the latest updates on regulations and competencies relevant to periodontics specialists.
In response to rapid advancements in dentistry, this workshop was organized to ensure the curriculum not only imparts knowledge but also equips students for sustainable practice in the future.
Emphasizing sustainability in the curriculum aims to shape dental professionals ready to address global challenges in the modern era.
The event featured strategic discussions and breakoutsessions, fostering collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas for curriculum redesign. Participants were encouraged to contribute their perspectives and experiences to develop a more relevant and effective curriculum.
The workshop’s outcomes are expected to bring long-term positive impacts to the Periodontics Study Program at FKG UGM, enhancing its vision, mission, and curriculum while improving students' learning experiences.
