FKG UGM Ranks 2nd in SINTA Research Productivity Index

Universities play a crucial role in fulfilling the Tri Dharma of higher education: Education, Research, and Community Service. Among these three pillars, research holds significant importance in driving innovation, generating solutions, and addressing increasingly complex global challenges.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) has achieved remarkable recognition by securing second place in the faculty/school productivity index of the Science and Technology Index (SINTA). The award was received by Sasmita Gandawanti, S.E., a SINTA enumerator at FKG UGM, during the SINTA Data Management Sharing Session held on December 20, 2024. The event was attended by the Secretary of the UGM Directorate of Research, Prof. drg. Diatri Nari Ratih, M.Kes, Ph.D., Sp.KG.(K), along with enumerators from all faculties at UGM.

Prof. Diatri Nari Ratih expressed appreciation for the strong synergy between the Directorate of Research, faculty, and the academic community. “This achievement reflects the outstanding dedication of researchers, enumerators, and the data management team. UGM will continue to support research efforts that benefit society and advance scientific knowledge,” she stated.

Sasmita Gandawanti also expressed pride in this accomplishment, emphasizing that the successful management of SINTA data is the result of collaborative efforts between the team, lecturers, and researchers at FKG UGM. “Moving forward, FKG UGM is committed to continuously improving the quality of research and publications,” she said.

Science and Technology Index (SINTA) provides access to publications, research results, books, and intellectual property (IP) data. Additionally, it offers metrics to assess research and publication performance, supporting efforts to enhance research quality in Indonesia. With features such as faculty or school identification based on authorship, SINTA serves as an effective tool for evaluating researcher performance.

This achievement underscores FKG UGM’s significant role in research development and scientific publications at UGM. The faculty’s commitment to research data management has been a key factor in positioning the university among the top ranks in the 2024 National SINTA Index.

With this milestone, FKG UGM reaffirms its position as a leading institution in innovation, producing high-quality scientific contributions for the advancement of knowledge and societal well-being.
