FKG UGM Lecturers Attend Cochrane Method Systematic Review Workshop

Four lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) participated in the Workshop on Systematic Review Following the Cochrane Method, organized by Cochrane Indonesia and the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CE&BU) of the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKKMK UGM). The workshop took place from 13-15 November 2024, at Tahir Building, North Wing, 8th Floor, Auditorium U.8.6, FKKMK UGM.

The FKG UGM representatives attending the workshop were Dr. drg. Friska Ani Rahman, MDSc., drg. Dyah Anindya, MDSc., drg. Vincensia Maria K, MDSc., Sp.Perio (K), and drg. Bramasto Purbo Sejati, Sp.BMM (K). This workshop aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of conducting systematic reviews using the Cochrane Method, covering protocol development and comprehensive review techniques.

According to drg. Dyah Anindya, MDSc., the workshop was highly beneficial in understanding the systematic review process. “The practical sessions were very useful in deepening the theoretical concepts we had learned,” she stated. The workshop was designed to be interactive, incorporating hands-on exercises to reinforce the theories presented by facilitators.

This event is highly relevant for FKG UGM lecturers, especially those new to systematic reviews or those who already have a research topic they wish to explore. By mastering this method, FKG UGM lecturers are expected to produce more structured and internationally recognized research. The workshop also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 4, ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education while expanding learning opportunities for all.
