The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) organized a free dental and oral care event on Saturday (2/03) for the residents of Tlogopucang Village, Kandangan District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java.
This event was part of the Community Service initiative in celebration of the 76th Anniversary of FKG UGM. A total of 196 personnel, including lecturers, educational staff, and students, were deployed to contribute directly. To facilitate this activity, the organizing committee also collaborated with the Tlogopucang Village Government, Kandangan Health Center, and the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) Temanggung Branch.
The dental and oral care services provided included tooth extraction, dental fillings, and tartar removal scaling. A total of 90 patients received dental care services.
The free dental and oral care service was warmly welcomed by the residents of Tlogopucang Village. They appreciated the effort to bring dental and oral health services closer to the community, which had a significant positive impact, especially considering the high rate stunting cases in Temanggung Regency..
This initiative also reflects the actualization of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in Education and Teaching, as well as Community Service, and demonstrates FKG UGM's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Involving students in providing direct dental and oral care under the supervision of Service Responsible Doctors (DPJP) is an effort to deliver quality education (Quality Education), in line with FKG UGM's mission.
