The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has graduated 30 new postgraduate students ready to dedicate their knowledge to Indonesia at the Graduation Ceremony on 24 April 2024. The graduates include 2 from the Master’s Program in Dental Science, 5 from the Specialist Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 10 from the Specialist Program in Orthodontics, 3 from the Specialist Program in Prosthodontics, and 10 Master's graduates who are continuing their studies in specialist programs as part of the Double Degree Program.
The Graduation Ceremony was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., Ph.D., representing the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. Drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., who could not attend in person. The ceremony continued with the graduation book presentation, the pinning of Alumni Pins for the graduates by the Head of the Study Program, and a speech by the valedictorian, Drg. Aulia Ayub, Sp.Ort., and remarks from the representatives of the Head of the Study Program and the Dean of FKG UGM were delivered online.
In his remarks, Prof. Drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., conveyed his message and hopes to all the graduates. "You are now part of the alumni, so uphold the good name of FKG UGM. Congratulations on your service and practice of your competencies," he said. "We hope you can become role models in the community and continue to contribute to the development of FKG UGM. We eagerly await your participation in academic development activities. Congratulations on your dedication, and best of luck to the alumni who will return to their places of service," he added.
He also gave special recognition to two graduates who achieved a perfect GPA 4.0: Drg. Aulia Ayub, Sp.Ort., and Drg. Irenne Sanita Lanny, MPH., Sp.Ort. "Congratulations on the outstanding achievements, especially to Drg. Aulia Ayub and Drg. Irenne for earning the Summa Cum Laude distinction."
The success of FKG UGM in graduating these postgraduate students is concrete evidence of its commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly pillars 1, 3, and 4: No Poverty, Good Health and Well-Being, and Quality Education. By producing graduates through quality education, FKG UGM contributes to improving health status and quality of life in the community as part of an ongoing effort to achieve a prosperous and poverty-free Indonesia.
