A total of 27 dentists from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), were sworn in and inaugurated on 10 July 2025 by the Faculty’s Dean. The ceremony was attended by representatives from PDGI DIY, as well as the Director of RSGM UGM, Prof. Sudomo. The list of graduates includes:

Representing the newly inaugurated dentists, drg. Tiffany Winata expressed in her speech that, “Today is a moment to remember but not to repeat. Each of us took different paths to earn this degree. The struggles, sacrifices, and lessons have been paid off today.”
The Chair of PDGI DIY, drg. Hunik Rimawati, M.Kes, emphasized that young dentists should work in compliance with regulations: “Do not practice before obtaining your registration (STR) and practice license (SIP). Congratulations on beginning a new chapter in the profession with its unique challenges.” The event continued with a video presentation featuring alumni stories, including those currently serving in remote areas such as Buton, Southeast Sulawesi.

Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D., delivered a keynote speech highlighting that the total number of FKG UGM alumni has now reached 5,414 (4,094 women and 1,320 men) with a ratio of 4:1. He encouraged female dentists to serve in community health centers (puskesmas) that still lack dentists, noting that according to the Minister of Health, around 3,500 puskesmas remain without dental practitioners. . Of the 27 graduates inaugurated today, 6 are male and 21 are female. The fastest clinical completion was achieved in 1 year and 11 months by drg. Yohanes William Tua Marpaung, while the highest GPA was achieved by drg. Vina Fitria Pramata Puspa with a GPA of 3.9 (average GPA: 3.57). Prof. Suryono closed his remarks by stating: “Please uphold the good name of FKG UGM wherever you dedicate your knowledge. And when you return to Jogja, don’t forget to stop by your alma mater.”
Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nengah Surati Jaya, M.Agr, representing the parents of the graduates, reminded that becoming a dentist is not only about clinical skills and technological adaptability but also a calling of the soul: “Serve with professionalism, integrity, uphold human values, and respect local cultural traditions wherever you are assigned.” Echoing the Dean’s message, Prof. Nengah encouraged the new dentists to serve in . remote areas where their presence is truly needed.
