Dr. drg. Maria Goreti Widiastuti, Sp.B.M.M., Subsp.Ped.O.M.(K), commonly known as drg. Maria, is a lecturer at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM). Dr. Maria graduated as a dentist in 1980 and obtained her specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1994. In 2018, she completed her Ph.D. studies and earned her doctoral degree. She is a Consultant in Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Maria has made significant contributions to advancing oral and maxillofacial surgical knowledge. Her dissertation topic was “Craniofacial Morphometry Study of Javanese Women with Computed-Aided-Design (CAD) Software for Post-Resection Mandibular Ameloblastoma Reconstruction.” The research discovered several morphometric formulas to guide the reconstruction and plate placement post-mandibular ameloblastoma surgery. Integrating these formulas with 3D geometric modeling enhances pre-operative planning and post-operative mandibular reconstruction evaluation accuracy.

She previously served as the Head of the Medical Staff Group (KSM) at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta. After her tenure there, she dedicated herself to furthering oral surgical knowledge and resident education by becoming a lecturer in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her commitment is evident through supervising dental students and oral and maxillofacial surgery residents in various surgical procedures. She also guided a resident to win first place in the Online Short Lecture competition during the 74th Anniversary of FKG UGM. Besides teaching, Dr. Maria is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at RS Happy Land Medical Center.
