FKG UGM Enlivens Nitilaku 2024 with a Spirit of National Unity

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) celebrated its 75th anniversary with a series of Nitilaku events under the theme "Silaturahmi Kebangsaan: Merawat Harmoni, Meruwat Persatuan"(National Gathering: Preserving Harmony, Restoring Unity). Held on Sunday, 15 December 2024, the event was filled with a vibrant spirit of unity in diversity.

On this special occasion, the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM (FKG UGM) actively participated in the Cultural Parade, embracing a unique theme, "Kerajaan Jade Noji." This name is an acronym inspired by FKG UGM’s campus address, Jalan Denta Nomor Siji (Denta Street No. 1). The FKG UGM contingent presented an engaging royal-themed concept, featuring Simaster as a mascot in a regal version. The parade participants included lecturers, staff, and orthodontic residents, all displaying high enthusiasm and team spirit.

Wisnu Budi Ardianto, the training coordinator for the FKG UGM contingent, expressed his appreciation for the team’s enthusiasm. "Although Nitilaku has become an annual tradition, FKG UGM has never missed a chance to participate. The dedication of the FKG UGM team deserves praise. Despite the short preparation time, today's performance was truly impressive," he remarked.

In addition to the Cultural Parade, FKG UGM contributed to the festivities by presenting the traditional Anggukdance from Kulon Progo. The performance featured 11 participants, comprising lecturers, staff, and residents. Their coordinated and captivating performance earned warm appreciation from the audience.

"In the future, I hope FKG UGM will continue to participate in Nitilaku with even more refined concepts and longer preparation time," added Wisnu Budi Ardianto.

FKG UGM's active participation reflects its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – by promoting local culture and preserving diversity; and SDG 4: Quality Education – by fostering cultural education that enhances understanding and appreciation of Indonesia’s rich heritage.

UGM’s 75th Nitilaku celebration stands as a testament to how unity and diversity can be celebrated with pride and enthusiasm. Hopefully, in the coming years, this event will continue to serve as a national movement that inspires generations to uphold unity and cultural heritage.
