FKG UGM Participates in the WURI Global Conference in South Korea 2025

A delegation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) attended the 2025 Global Conference The World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) held in Busan, South Korea on 24–26 September 2025. The delegation consisted of the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration, drg. Trianna Wahyu Utami, M.D.Sc., Ph.D., and drg. Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, Ph.D.

FKG UGM took part in the 2025 WURI Global ConferenceGlobal Conference following its achievement in securing positions in three categories of the WURI 2025 rankings. FKG UGM placed 8th in the Industrial Applicationcategory, 25th in the Culture/Values category, and 29th in the Technology Development and Applicationcategory. “This is the second time that FKG UGM has been listed in the WURI rankings, following our inclusion in 2024,”explained delegation member drg. Reza Pahlevi, Ph.D.

WURI is a global university ranking system that evaluates institutions based on innovation and the tangible societal impact of their academic and research initiatives.

During the conference, drg. Trianna Wahyu Utami, M.D.Sc., Ph.D. presented FKG UGM’s efforts in advancing research downstreaming, including the development of various lecturer-led research products. One highlight showcased was GAMACHA as a flagship example of research-to-product innovation.

Meanwhile, drg. Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, Ph.D. delivered a presentation on the development of GAMADENTICAL XR, illustrating FKG UGM’s steps in implementing technology-based learning, particularly as a strategic response during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FKG UGM and Tongmyong University, marking the beginning of strategic collaborative efforts between the two institutions. FKG UGM also initiated discussions with the WURI Foundation to explore further cooperation opportunities. FKG UGM remains committed to maintaining and strengthening these institutional partnerships, with plans to follow up on strategic collaboration initiatives with Tongmyong University in the near future.
