On Monday (18/9), FKG UGM welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Andalas (UNAND), West Sumatra. The delegation from UNAND was led by drg. Eni Rahmi, Sp.Pros., Deputy Dean 3. The Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D., and his team warmly received them in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the OECF Building, FKG UGM.
"Welcome, delegation from UNAND's FKG to FKG UGM campus. FKG UGM always welcomes everyone with open arms for learning and collaboration in education, research, and community service," said drg. Suryono in his welcoming remarks. This effort is part of our commitment to realize an independent, sovereign, and just Indonesia. In this era of Industry 4.0, the demand to adapt to massive information technology is increasing to avoid lagging. Therefore, a strong and diligent team capable of working smartly is needed to achieve extraordinary achievements.
He also shared that FKG UGM achieved several academic milestones in 2023, including successfully producing 5 professors. Additionally, the Specialist Program in Oral Disease Sciences will soon become active. An International Undergraduate Program will also be initiated alongside strengthening cooperation by signing Double Degree MoUs with European universities.
Meanwhile, drg. Eni Rahmi, Sp.Pros., representing the 5-member Curriculum Team from FKG UNAND, expressed appreciation to FKG UGM for accepting their visit request and their enthusiasm for benchmarking activities at UGM. "For us, this is our second opportunity to learn from UGM after inviting Prof. Dr. Djagal Wiseso Marseno, M. Agr., as our speaker during the transition to State-Owned University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH)," said drg. Eni Rahmi. For academics at UNAND, UGM's motto, "Rooted Strong, Soaring High," serves as inspiration akin to seniors inspiring juniors.
Drg. Eni also expressed hopes that FKG UNAND could follow in the footsteps of FKG UGM's success. This benchmarking activity is an effort to maintain and enhance the quality of education at FKG UNAND, which recently achieved Excellent accreditation. She also agreed to strive for perfection in supporting the realization of an independent, sovereign, and just Indonesia.
The activities continued with presentations by the Heads of the Undergraduate Dental Education Program, drg. Aryan Morita, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Professional Dental Doctor Program, Dr. drg. Rurie Ratna Shantiningsih, M. DSc. The session concluded with discussions, Q&A sessions between the two faculties, and a group photo.
