The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), held a halal bihalal gathering with the theme “Positive Thinking to Boost Productivity and Happiness” at the Margono Soeradji Auditorium on Wednesday, 9 April 2025.
The event served as a symbol of synergy and unity, bringing together not only faculty leaders but also the academic community and partners in one shared space to exchange positive energy and progress together. It also aimed to strengthen social ties and foster a harmonious atmosphere following the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
In his opening speech, Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., emphasized the significance of halal bihalal as an opportunity to forgive and foster better relationships.
“Let us use this moment to reconnect and forgive one another so that we may return to a state of purity,” he said.

On this occasion, Dean Suryono also recited the Syawalan Pledge:
"We, the academic community of FKG UGM, humbly ask for forgiveness for any mistakes and wrongdoings, intentional or unintentional. In return, we sincerely and wholeheartedly forgive those who have wronged us." This pledge was echoed by all attendees present.
The event continued with a tausiyah (religious reflection) delivered by Prof. Dr. M. Suyanto, M.M. In his message, he shared that the Almighty bestows love and forgiveness upon those who repent and strive to improve themselves.
Likewise, as creations of God, it is our duty to embody the spirit of mutual forgiveness.
“By thinking positively and forgiving one another, we can create a more productive work environment and nurture shared happiness,” said Suyanto.

At the close of the event, attendees exchanged handshakes as a symbolic gesture of forgiveness and to strengthen social bonds within the FKG UGM community. This halal bihalal gathering not only served as a platform for reconnection but also encouraged individuals to maintain a positive mindset in order to achieve optimal productivity and collective happiness in daily life.
