The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) has once again achieved national recognition. drg. Raymund Octavius, an orthodontic resident from FKG UGM, won 1st place in the Specialist Orthodontic Dentist Competency Exam, held at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Padjadjaran (FKG UNPAD) on 19 December 2024.
The exam was participated in by residents from top universities across Indonesia, including Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), Universitas Indonesia (UI), and Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD). The evaluation used the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) format, assessing both clinical and theoretical competencies in handling complex orthodontic cases.
drg. Raymund Octavius demonstrated outstanding performance, excelling in various assessment areas, including case analysis, treatment planning, and communication with patients and the medical team. His achievement reflects thorough preparation, dedication, and the high-quality education provided by FKG UGM.
This exam serves as a final evaluation process for orthodontic residents in Indonesia, aiming to enhance education standards in the field of orthodontics. Additionally, it promotes collaboration between universities to produce competent specialist dentists.
