Denpasar, 15-17 November 2024 – Two lecturers from the Master’s Program in Dental Sciences (IKG) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), Prof. Dr. drg. Juni Handajani, MKes., PhD, and Dr. drg. Dyah Irnawati, M.S., were keynote speakers in an expert lecture titled “Building a Global Perspective for Students” at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Udayana.
Prof. Dr. Drg. Juni Handajani presented a session on “Saliva as an Oral Health Biomarker.” She explained how saliva can serve as an early indicator of oral health, opening vast opportunities for the development of data-driven dentistry.
Meanwhile, Dr. Drg. Dyah Irnawati delivered a presentation on “Trends in Dental Biomaterial Development.” Her talk highlighted the latest innovations in dental materials aimed at enhancing patient treatment effectiveness and comfort.
Both speakers provided valuable insights to Universitas Udayana students while emphasizing the importance of a global perspective in higher education.
“The Master’s Program in Dental Sciences at UGM is designed to produce graduates who excel academically and have a broad global outlook,” stated Prof. Juni while introducing the master’s program at FKG UGM.
The event also included a socialization session for the Master’s Program in Dental Sciences at FKG UGM. This session aimed to provide information about the curriculum, research opportunities, and career prospects for prospective students, giving them an overview of access to the latest research and expert guidance in the field.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and high-quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. Additionally, Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) is reflected in the collaboration between FKG UGM and Universitas Udayana, strengthening higher education networks to support sustainable development.
