Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DWP FKG UGM) organized a social service activity at the Muhammadiyah Prambanan Girls' & Dhuafa Orphanage in Kalasan on Saturday, 22 June 2024. The event, attended by the DWP FKG UGM committee, aimed to express love, strengthen brotherhood, and share compassion with others.
Wiwin Haswinatri, Chairwoman of DWP FKG UGM, offered women necessities such as soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, and other daily needs for the orphanage residents. “We want the girls here to take care of themselves and maintain cleanliness as taught by our religion,” she said.
In her speech, she added that as women, we must be diligent and studious to change our fate and improve the status of ourselves and those around us.
This social service program received positive feedback from the orphanage head. Triyono expressed gratitude for the visit and the social connection established. “I hope the presence of DWP FKG UGM can inspire the children at the orphanage to continue their education to higher levels,” he said.
This social service aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the first pillar (No Poverty), the third pillar (Good Health and Well-Being), the fourth pillar (Quality Education), the tenth pillar (Reduced Inequalities), and the seventeenth pillar (Partnership for The Goals).
