Students from TK ABA TRINI received direct education from dental resident professionals under the guidance of the Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Department faculty members, namely Dr. Drg. Rini Widyaningrum, M.Biotech. and Drg. Silviana Farrah Diba, Sp.RKG(K), regarding proper oral hygiene and dental check-ups (2/5/2024).
This activity aims to educate and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene early and assess students' oral health status. Cases identified during the check-ups will be followed up with treatment at the Prof. Soedomo Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) UGM.
The role of schools and parents influences children's dental and oral health. "If this is done early and consistently, it will positively impact the child's condition," said Dr. Rini.
Early education on dental and oral health is crucial. Childhood is a critical period for forming habits and behaviors that will carry into adulthood.
With a good understanding of maintaining proper dental and oral hygiene early on, children will be accustomed to practicing it daily. This will build a strong foundation for their dental and oral health in the future.
In addition to benefiting the community, this activity also provides clinical experience for participants. This is one of the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3) and Quality Education (SDG 4).
