FKG UGM Students Win 3rd Place at the USCDC ACEH Poster Competition
Chikita and Annisa shared their unique experience. “When we arrived at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Banda Aceh, at 3:00 pm, we were immediately picked up by the USCDC USK committee and taken to our accommodation. Although the journey was quite tiring, we did not want to waste time. That night, we practiced our presentation again until around 1:00 am because the final was scheduled for the next day at 9:00 am. The next morning, after arriving at the FKG USK building, we were scheduled to present as the second team. The final atmosphere was quite tense, as every team demonstrated very strong quality. After all participants had presented, the committee announced the competition results, and alhamdulillah our team achieved 3rd place. The closing ceremony lasted until around 3:00 pm, after which the official city tour began,” explained Chikita.
“The organizers invited all finalists to visit several iconic locations in Banda Aceh. We started by visiting the magnificent Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, which is an important symbol for the Acehnese people. We then continued to Lhoknga Beach, enjoying the beautiful scenery while taking photos with teams from other universities. In the evening, the committee invited us to enjoy Acehnese noodles, a local culinary specialty, which perfectly concluded a warm and enjoyable day. We also had the opportunity to discuss with the President of BEM FKG USK about differences in learning systems between FKG UGM and FKG USK—an invaluable new insight for us,” Annisa added.
“Overall, this experience not only expanded our academic knowledge but also enriched our perspectives on culture, the city atmosphere, and the hospitality of the Acehnese people. This journey became one of our most memorable experiences,” said Chikita & Annisa.
