Farikha Azzahroh, a Dentistry graduate from Sukabumi, achieved a GPA of 3.45 with a study period of 3 years and 11 months. Affectionately called Fika, she has been familiar with UGM since childhood, with two older siblings graduating from FKKMK UGM and the Faculty of Biology UGM. Dentistry became her study of choice at UGM. Although some of her peers graduated earlier, Fika persevered and worked hard to complete her studies on time. Outside academics, Fika was active in the BEM FKG UGM (Student Executive Board) as a platform for self-development. She acknowledged that studying in the health field is not easy, as it requires strength academically, mentally, and physically. “It takes resilience to pursue a career in health, especially in dentistry,” said the One Direction fan with a smile.
When feeling overwhelmed, Fika usually rests or takes a simple walk to shop for daily necessities. The values instilled by her parents guided her journey, especially the principle of “don’t be lazy,” which she interpreted as a deep and broad reminder applied throughout her studies.

The journey to becoming a dentist does not end with a bachelor’s degree. After earning the Bachelor of Dental Science (SKG), graduates must prepare for the entry exam entry exam as a requirement to become a clinical clerk (co-assistant) at FKG UGM. The exam is held four times a year and is open only to students with a GPA above 2.5. Those who do not qualify will be directed to continue their clinical practice at other accredited institutions recommended by the faculty. “The entry exam also includes a psychological assessment (MMPI),” explained Prof. drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., Ph.D., Vice Dean I of FKG UGM.
