Jakarta, 7 September 2024 – Pullman Central Park Jakarta hosted a dental workshop attended by dentists from across Indonesia and several Asian countries. The event featured Dr. Liu Jingjin, a leading aesthetic dentist from China, renowned for his extensive experience training over 5,000 dentists in China and lecturing in various countries, including Indonesia.
The workshop was attended by drg. Elbanuswatri, Sp.Pros., a PhD student in Dental Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The event included comprehensive lectures on the use of composite resin in dentistry. Dr. Liu Jingjin discussed various techniques related to direct composite application, including the use of tints—an artistic technique in dentistry that enhances the aesthetic expression of composites, particularly in anterior cases. This technique is crucial as synthetic composites have yet to fully achieve optimal opalescence, making additional tinting necessary for the best results.
The final session of the workshop focused on a three-hour live demonstration, followed by a five-hour hands-on practice session. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in direct Q&A with Dr. Liu Jingjin, marking the conclusion of the event.
Dr. Liu Jingjin, a composite expert and Director of Jiaxing Zhizen Dental Clinic in China, emphasized, “Good materials and techniques should be able to produce restorations as close as possible to natural teeth.”
This workshop contributed to improving the quality of education in dentistry, aligning with SDG 4: Quality Education, and strengthening global partnerships among dental professionals, in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
