Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Indonesia (UI), and Universitas Airlangga (Unair) are organizing an online lecture titled "Alveolar Bone Reconstruction: From Ridge Preservation to Large Graft Flaps for Oral Rehabilitation." The event will take place on 1 August 2024, at 08:00 AM WIB via Zoom, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Leonardo P. Faverani, DDS, MSc, PhD, an oral surgeon and Associate Professor at Aracatuba Dental School (Unesp), Brazil.
This lecture is designed to expand the knowledge and skills of professionals in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, particularly in alveolar bone reconstruction techniques, which are essential for oral rehabilitation. This topic is highly relevant, especially for professionals in developing countries, where access to advanced surgical techniques remains limited.
Dr. Faverani will discuss various approaches to alveolar bone reconstruction, ranging from ridge preservation to large graft flap techniques. The material presented will help dental practitioners master complex surgical procedures while improving the quality of patient care. The session will also include a Q&A segment, allowing participants to interact directly with the speaker and deepen their understanding.
The collaboration between UGM, UI, and Unair in organizing this event highlights the importance of synergy in education, particularly in developing nations. The use of digital platforms enables participants from various regions to join the lecture, eliminating geographical barriers. This aspect is particularly valuable for professionals in remote areas who require access to specialized training but are often hindered by distance and infrastructure.
With strong collaboration and an in-depth theme, this event reflects UGM Faculty of Dentistry's commitment to advancing dental and oral health education in Indonesia. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education and support lifelong learning, ultimately producing competent professionals in the field of dentistry.
