On 7 December 2024, thirteen residents from the Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), successfully passed the National Competency Examination. The exam, held at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Padjadjaran (FKG UNPAD), marks a significant milestone in their journey to becoming pediatric dental specialists.
The National Competency Examination is a crucial process to ensure that residents meet the national standards required for pediatric dental practice. The exam includes a comprehensive assessment of clinical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional ethics. The residents' success reflects their dedication to the profession and the quality education they received at UGM.
The event was also supported by the presence of distinguished professors, Prof. Dr. drg. Al. Supartinah, SU., Sp.KGA (K-PKOA) and Prof. drg. Sri Kuswandari, MS, Sp.KGA (K-KKA), who provided intensive mentorship to the residents. Their guidance emphasized the importance of professional development and competence, serving as an additional motivation for the residents in facing this challenging examination.
This achievement highlights UGM's commitment to providing high-quality education that encompasses not only academic excellence but also practical skills and professional ethics. The Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program at FKG UGM is designed to equip residents with the necessary expertise to address children's oral health needs effectively.
