KGA Resident Wins Scientific Award

A resident from the Pediatric Dentistry Program (KGA) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), drg. Ade Ratu, has won a prestigious award in the Most Innovative Original Research category at the Dental Science Exhibition, Meeting, and Research. The event was organized by the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) and took place from 30 November to 1 December 2024, at Gets Hotel, Semarang.

drg. Ade Ratu’s research focuses on the development of more affordable dental medications to improve public oral health. This study aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in ensuring access to essential medicines for all communities. Through an innovative approach, drg. Ade Ratu demonstrated how healthcare solutions can integrate sustainability and real benefits for society.

The event was attended by students, dentists, and researchers from various institutions, discussing the latest advancements in dentistry, especially regarding the implementation of sustainable healthcare practices. drg. Ade Ratu expressed gratitude for this achievement, stating, "This award is the result of my team’s hard work and dedication. We are committed to continuously seeking innovative solutions to make dental care accessible to all."

The importance of affordable dental medications was a key discussion point, as many individuals still face barriers to receiving oral healthcare due to high costs. Drg.
