Health Training Institute at FKG UGM Undergoes Accreditation

To become a strong education and training institution for healthcare professionals, it is essential to have good standards. In an increasingly competitive educational landscape, accreditation has become a necessity. The accreditation process encourages training institutions to continually improve and develop. This is crucial to ensure that training institutions remain relevant to the times and market needs.

The Interdisciplinary Dentistry Skill Development Center (iDSDC) underwent an accreditation visit from the Ministry of Health on 1 October 2024, conducted online. This visit is an important step in ensuring that the training provided by iDSDC meets national standards.

The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., expressed appreciation for the presence of iDSDC. He stated that FKG UGM is the only public university with a learning center that can be used for the development of healthcare human resources.

FKG UGM has advanced tools that can be used for educational purposes to enhance healthcare skills. “With the establishment of iDSDC, I hope it can contribute to improving the capacity of healthcare human resources,” Suryono said.

The assessment team from the Ministry of Health, consisting of Dedeh Syaadah, SKM., MKM, Dian Rahayu Pamungkas, SKM., MKM., and drg. Leny Kuswandari, MKM., conducted a thorough review of various aspects at iDSDC, including document content, the organization of training, and facilities.

“As assessors, we want to capture the quality management system of the training implemented by iDSDC,” said Dedeh Syaadah. The accreditation agenda consists of reviewing documents that include six components and inspecting facilities.

Meanwhile, drg. M. Reza Pahlevi, the chair of iDSDC, stated that iDSDC was established in 2022 and has transformed into a more comprehensive institution. “We aim to provide quality education and training integrated with the latest research and utilize the latest technology to address health issues in society,” emphasized Reza.

This accreditation visit is a significant milestone for iDSDC in its efforts to produce competent healthcare professionals ready to face future challenges. With an interdisciplinary approach, iDSDC is expected to produce healthcare professionals capable of collaborating across various disciplines in the health field.
