The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a judicium for 11 students from the Dental Medicine Education Program on Monday, 15 July 2024, at the Meeting Room. During the event, it was announced that two out of the eleven graduates received the cum laude distinction.
In her address, Dr. drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, shared important messages with the students who have completed their academic phase and are about to proceed to the clinical stage (internship). "After graduation, you will continue with your internship. I hope you can graduate on time," said drg. Rosa.
Dr. drg. Alma Linggar Jonarta, M.Kes., also shared her advice. She highlighted that the professional stage would introduce students to a new environment with different challenges.
According to Dr. Alma, it is crucial for students to focus on time and activity management. "During your internship, you will enter a new environment and face new challenges. You must be able to manage your activities effectively," she advised.
She also encouraged students to seek consultation from the guidance and counseling unit at FKG UGM if they encounter difficulties during their internship.
Before advancing to the dental profession or internship stage, students must pass an entry exam to meet the established minimum competency standards.
This graduation ceremony marks a new chapter in the students' academic journey and serves as the initial step toward their professional dental careers. The achievements of the students align with three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 ( Quality Education), and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
