FKG UGM Shows Commitment by Assisting KADER SHP SDIT Ash-Shiddiq

School Health Program (SHP) is part of the National Dental Health Month (BKGN) activities this year. This program started with a Training of Trainers (ToT) held on 12 October. A number of cadres participated in this training, including those from SDIT Ash-Shiddiq.

School Health Program: Involving Teachers to Improve Dental Healthin Elementary Schools

As a follow-up to the ToT activity, FKG UGM visited SDIT Ash-Shiddiq again on Thursday, 31 October. During this visit, several lecturers participated, including:

  1. Dr. drg. Bernadetha Esti Chrismawaty, M.Kes., MD.Sc.
  2. drg. Rr. Paramitha Noviasari, Sp.Ort.(K)
  3. drg. Asikin Nur, M.Kes., Ph.D.
  4. drg. Heriati SItosari, MD.Sc., Ph.D.
  5. drg. Yanuarti Retnaningrum, Sp.Ort.(K)
  6. Budi Rodestawati, S.Kp.G, MPH
  7. Agatha Ravi Vidiasratri, MPH.

The presence of these dental and oral health experts from FKG UGM was aimed at supervising the implementation of the SHP at SDIT Ash-Shiddiq. In her speech, Dwi Ningsih, M.M., expressed her gratitude to FKG UGM for their willingness to assist in teaching dental and oral health at their school. "On behalf of SDIT Ash-Shiddiq, we would like to thank the doctors for their support in applying the dental health knowledge that was previously taught. We hope for more collaboration between FKG UGM and SDIT Ash-Shiddiq in the future," said Dwi Ningsih.

Similarly, the Chair of BKGN UGM 2024, drg. Silviana Farrah Diba, Sp.R.K.G.(K) (drg. Farrah), also expressed her appreciation to the teachers at SDIT Ash-Shiddiq. "The success of the SHP program cannot be separated from the role of teachers in educating their students. Therefore, we will fully support and be available as consultants if needed during the implementation of this program," added drg. Farrah. As a form of support, FKG UGM handed over dental health educational materials to SDIT Ash-Shiddiq.

It is hoped that the implementation of the SHP program will improve oral health in the community, particularly among children who are vulnerable to dental and oral diseases. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 3 on Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4 on Quality Education, and Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.
