In an effort to enhance postgraduate education quality, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held a Curriculum Update Workshop for the Master's Program (S2) in Dental Sciences on 21 June 2024. The event, held at the Grand Rohan Hotel, was attended by all lecturers involved in the S2 Dental Sciences program.
Prof. Dr. Gandes Retno Rahayu, M. MedEd, Ph.D., from DPP UGM, served as the keynote speaker, providing in-depth insights into the curriculum updating process. She emphasized the importance of adapting the curriculum to advancements in science and technology as well as societal needs.
“This curriculum update is a strategic step to ensure that graduates of the S2 Dental Sciences program at FKG UGM possess relevant competencies and are capable of addressing challenges in the field of dentistry,” stated Prof. Gandes.
At the same event, drg. Suryono S.H., M.M., Ph.D., the Dean of FKG UGM, underscored the importance of collaboration among all academic members in realizing FKG UGM's vision of becoming a center of excellence in dental education and research.
With a more relevant and up-to-date curriculum, it is hoped that S2 graduates from FKG UGM will be able to make a more significant contribution to the advancement of dental sciences in Indonesia. “Through this workshop, we aim to develop a more innovative S2 curriculum that can produce high-quality graduates,” Suryono affirmed.
