Yogyakarta, December 1, 2025 — Students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again achieved outstanding success at the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS). The UGM Student Creativity Program – Invention Category (PKM-KC) team won two medals: Gold Medal in the Presentation category and Bronze Medal in the Poster category.
The achievement by the team supervised by Dr. drg. Indra Bramanti, M.Sc., Sp.KGA(K) marked the culmination of a long journey that began in December 2024. Preparations included proposal development, idea generation, mentor selection, and team formation. The proposal was submitted through the UGM Simaster system for internal university selection.
In April 2025, the team passed the internal selection and advanced to the national stage by submitting their proposal through Simbelmawa (Learning and Student Affairs Information System). Following national evaluation, the proposal received funding, and research activities officially commenced.

“After the funding was approved, we focused on developing the AI model, building the device, assembling the website, and preparing the PKP 2 report,” said Sasa, representing the team. It was during the PKP 2 stage that teams advancing to PIMNAS were announced. “Thank God, we qualified for PIMNAS,” she added.
The journey to PIMNAS, however, was far from easy. The preparation time before the final round was very limited—only two weeks. During this intensive period, the team worked tirelessly to refine the AI model, prepare the scientific paper, develop the presentation, and complete the competition poster. Once all preparations were finalized, the team traveled to Makassar, the host city of PIMNAS.
In the PKM-KC category, participants are evaluated on two components: Poster and Presentation, which include presentation performance, research outcomes, scientific articles, and final reports. UGM’s strong performance resulted in the team securing medals in both categories.
