Indonesian Medical Council Team Conducts Visitation and Feasibility Monitoring for the Oral Medicine Specialist Program at FKG UGM

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) has undergone another important step in establishing its Oral Disease Specialist Dentist Program (PPDGS). On 9-10 November 2023, a team from the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) conducted a visitation and monitoring and evaluation (monev) to assess the feasibility of this new study program.

Present at the visit were Prof. Dr. drg. Melanie Hendriaty Sadono, M. Biomed, PBO, dr. Vonny Nouva Tubagus, Sp. Rad (K), and their team.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure that the PPDGS Oral Diseases program at FKG UGM has met all necessary requirements, including curriculum, facilities, and faculty competency.

Additionally, this visitation and evaluation will determine whether the specialist program is ready to operate and accept new students.

As a result of the KKI visitation, a recommendation was issued for the establishment of the Oral Disease Specialist Dentist Program at FKG UGM.

With positive results from the KKI visitation and evaluation, FKG UGM is now closer to realizing this program and making a significant contribution to dental and oral health in Indonesia. This process also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
