In celebration of its 77th anniversary, the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), held various exciting activities on Saturday (22/2). These activities aimed to strengthen togetherness and raise awareness about healthy lifestyles. The series of events included a Fun Run, Family Gathering, and Free Dental Check-ups, which took place within the FKG UGM campus and were attended by academic staff, alumni, and the extended FKG UGM family.
The event began with the Fun Run, which was not only a sports activity but also a moment to reinforce bonds among participants. In his speech, the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D. , emphasized that this was not a competition but a moment of togetherness. “Because this is not a race, run with joy, enjoy every step, and don’t rush. The most important thing is to reach the finish line safely, maintain togetherness, and always be careful on the road. May this activity bring benefits to our health, and let us begin with a prayer for smoothness and safety,” they said.
After the Fun Run, participants gathered for the Family Gathering, featuring various interactive activities to strengthen the bonds within the FKG UGM extended family. Additionally, Free Dental Check-upswere held as a contribution from FKG UGM to raise public awareness about the importance of oral health.
These activities align with FKG UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through these events, FKG UGM not only commemorates its 77th anniversary but also continues to contribute to building a healthy, caring, and united academic community.
