The Spirit of Sportsmanship and Collaboration Echoes in the Opening of PRASASTI FKG UGM 2026

An atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and togetherness marked the opening of PRASASTI 2026 (Sports, Arts, and Dentistry Week) on April 20, 2026, organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FKG UGM. This annual event once again became a meeting space for students across generations, combining sports competitions, arts, and values of integrity into one inspiring series of activities.

The Head of the PRASASTI 2026 Organizing Committee, Dimas Nada Saputra, expressed appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the event. He emphasized that the event’s success was not solely the result of committee work, but also of collective support from lecturers, administrative staff, and students from different cohorts.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported this event. PRASASTI is not merely a competition, but also a space to strengthen relationships between cohorts and reinforce togetherness within FKG,” he stated.

Furthermore, Dimas stressed that PRASASTI was expected not only to serve as entertainment and a refreshingbreak, but also as a momentum for building stronger and healthier relationships amid the demanding dynamics of academic life.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FKG UGM, Rosa Amalia, highlighted the importance of balancing academic and non-academic achievements. She emphasized that dentistry students should not only excel in laboratories or classrooms, but also develop their potential in other fields.

“FKG students must possess comprehensive excellence. They should not only be academically intelligent, but also active and accomplished in non-academic fields such as sports and the arts,” she remarked.

PRASASTI, which stands for Pekan Olahraga Seni dan Dentistry(Sports, Arts, and Dentistry Week), is an annual agenda initiated by the Department of Interest and Talent Development of BEM KM FKG UGM Cabinet Satya Karsa. The event brings together all student cohorts and members of the academic community in competitions that uphold the values of sportsmanship.

The opening ceremony was conducted solemnly and symbolically, beginning with an official opening, speeches, athlete and referee oaths, the signing of a mutual agreement contract by cohort representatives, and closing remarks.

In the athlete’s oath, participants committed to upholding sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity throughout the competitions. They also expressed readiness to compete with determination, respect opponents, and accept results gracefully in order to maintain the good name of the institution.

Meanwhile, the referees pledged to carry out their duties professionally, neutrally, and objectively. They promised to maintain fairness and ensure that every competition would proceed in a conducive atmosphere while upholding sportsmanship.

The symbolic opening ceremony marked the beginning of a series of competitions designed not only to test physical ability and creativity, but also the character and integrity of FKG UGM students.

The competitions included: Sports Categories: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, FIFA, Futsal, Mini soccer, Mobile Legends, Table tennis, and Volleyball . Arts Categories: Photography, Solo Vocal, and Band Performance. In total, the event involved 216 participants from the FKG UGM academic community.

With the spirit of collaboration and sportsmanship, PRASASTI 2026 is expected to become more than just a competition. It serves as a space for social learning, solidarity-building, and character development for FKG UGM students—helping them excel not only academically, but also in social life.
