Residents from the Conservative Dentistry Study Program, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), achieved dual recognition at the 7th National Scientific Seminar (SINI VII) organized by the Indonesian Conservative Dentistry Association (IKORGI) on Saturday, 12 October 2024, at Gran Senyiur Hotel, Balikpapan.
In the Case Report Short Lecturecategory, drg. Wildan Pratama Aji from FKG UGM won the Consolation 2nd Winner award for presenting a clinical case in conservative dentistry. His presentation showcased innovative solutions for restoration and treatment in patients with complex dental conditions, receiving high praise from the judging panel for its in-depth analysis.
Another achievement came in the Cultural Performance category at Carnaval Vaganza Nusantara. The FKG UGM art team delivered a stunning performance celebrating Indonesia's cultural richness, earning them the Consolation 3rd Winneraward. This presentation not only illustrated the nation's cultural diversity but also highlighted the importance of preserving national heritage.
The event aimed to enhance residents' academic and clinical presentation skills, expand professional networks, and promote creativity and collaboration in the arts. Moreover, it served as a platform to strengthen inter-university relationships in Indonesia, reinforce collaboration in conservative dentistry, and showcase Indonesian culture at the national level.
This dual achievement underscores that FKG UGM residents excel not only in academics but also in actively preserving Indonesian cultural heritage. The event embodies the commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by enhancing professional skills in dental health and Goal 4 (Quality Education) through academic development and cultural appreciation.
