Jakarta, December 14, 2025 — FKG UGM achieved an outstanding accomplishment by winning first, second, and third place at the National Pediatric Dentistry Competency Examination organized by the Health Sciences Cluster of Universitas Indonesia on December 13, 2025. This achievement marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time UGM has secured all top three positions in the national pediatric dentistry competency examination.
The competition was attended by 18 participants from three universities—Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and Universitas Indonesia (UI). UGM sent 11 participants and successfully dominated the final results.
The winners came from the Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program of FKG UGM. First place was awarded to drg. Akbar Dwipasya Haliyudha Warokka, Sp.KGA; second place to drg. Shavira Amanda Muhandri, Sp.KGA; and third place to drg. Yunirahmilia, Sp.KGA.
The national competency examination consisted of several assessment stages, including a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), covering Pediatric Oral Pathology, Pediatric Craniofacial Complex, and Dentistry for Children and Individuals with Special Needs. The examination was designed to assess theoretical knowledge, procedural accuracy, and clinical competence in pediatric dentistry.
This success was strongly supported by the guidance of supervising lecturers, including Prof. drg. Sri Kuswandari, M.S., Sp.KGA(K)., Ph.D.; Prof. drg. Al Supartinah, SU., Sp.KGA(K); and Dr. drg. Indra Bramanti, M.Sc., Sp.KGA(K), who consistently emphasized strengthening both theoretical understanding and clinical skills.
drg. Andi Muhammad Fuad Ansar from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at FKG UGM described this achievement as highly commendable and motivating for continuous quality improvement. Going forward, enrichment of unique clinical cases and deeper mastery of pediatric dentistry materials and procedures remain necessary to maintain and surpass the achievements attained.
