Residents from the Conservative Dentistry Study Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), actively participated in the 7th National Scientific Seminar (SINI VII), organized by the Indonesian Association of Conservative Dentistry (IKORGI) on Sunday, 13 October 2024, at Gran Senyiur Hotel, Balikpapan. The event was attended by conservative dentistry specialists and residents from top universities in Indonesia, including UNAIR, UI, Trisakti, UNHAS, USU, and UNPAD.
FKG UGM residents utilized this forum to present various clinical cases in conservative dentistry, including restoration treatments and root canal therapy for patients with complex dental conditions. These presentations were followed by interactive discussions that allowed participants to explore the best solutions and the latest approaches in conservative dental practice.
In addition to providing clinical insights, the event served as a platform to strengthen professional relationships among conservative dentistry practitioners across Indonesia. Participants actively engaged in networking, fostering new scientific collaborations, and sharing practical experiences in managing innovative and evidence-based dental cases.
The event committee chair stated, “This event aims to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of residents, strengthen scientific discussions in conservative dentistry case management, and create broader collaborative opportunities in the field of dentistry in Indonesia.”
The participation of FKG UGM in the 7th National Scientific Seminar also signifies its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by improving public dental health management and Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing the professional skills of residents and dentists.
