Description
The Doctoral Program in Dental Science at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), is a third-level education program designed to achieve a Doctorate in Dental Science. This program has been operational since the academic year 2007/2008 under permit number 153/DIKTI/Kep/2007 and is accredited with an 'A' rating as per Decree No. 0019/LAM.PTKES/Akr/dok/I/2018 dated 23 January 2018. This study program implements a research-based curriculum centered on outcomes, known as Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The Research-Based Curriculum integrates lectures, community service (PkM), and research as its outputs. In alignment with its vision, the Doctoral Program emphasizes research as the forefront of executing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This approach is consistent with UGM's vision, mission, and objectives, as well as the UGM General Policy for 2012-2037, which positions postgraduate education as the backbone of academic development.

Objective

- To produce graduates who: (1) possess high integrity, (2) have a broad perspective, (3) have the fundamental scientific knowledge and skills necessary to create new theories or methodologies beneficial to society, (4) have the ability to communicate their thoughts and work to peers and the public, (5) have the capability to develop their knowledge and collaborate through research and community service, and (6) have the ability to think comprehensively and holistically about issues.

Program Competencies
The Doctoral Curriculum in Dental Science is structured according to KKNI level 9. Upon completing the Doctoral Program in Dental Science, graduates are expected to:

- Basic knowledge and necessary skills to create new theories or methodologies that can be used for the benefit of society
- Possess the ability to develop science comprehensively, communicate their thoughts, collaborate through research, community service, and convey their work to peers and the public (as lecturers and researchers).
The learning outcomes encompass attitudes, general abilities, general skills, and specific skills.
