The lecture was attended enthusiastically by all residents and students of the Periodontics Specialist Program at FKG UGM, eager to deepen their understanding of this essential procedure.
A The session was opened by the Head of the Periodontics Specialist Program, drg. Kwartarini Murdiastuti, Sp.Perio., SubSp. RPDI (K). In her opening remarks, Drg. Kwartarini expressed her hope that the lecture would provide valuable learning experiences for residents and help enhance their skills in periodontal care.
drg. Dhany began the expert lecture with a theoretical presentation, explaining the indications and contraindications of Sinus Lifting —a critical technique for placing implants in patients with insufficient bone conditions. This topic was highly relevant for residents preparing for clinical practice.
The residents displayed great enthusiasm throughout the event. One of the residents, Drg. Oliver, shared, “This event is incredibly beneficial for expanding our knowledge and broadening our perspective on future clinical practices.”
Active interaction between participants and the speaker made the lecture a profound learning experience. Beyond enriching technical skills, the session also encouraged residents to think critically and creatively in applying their skills to real-world scenarios. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and the development of practical skills.
drg. Kwartarini emphasized the importance of such activities in the curriculum. She noted that events like this play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theory and practice. She encouraged residents to seize this opportunity to enhance their competency in periodontal care.
At the end of the session, participants expressed their gratitude for the chance to learn from an experienced practitioner. The event underscored the importance of continuous education in dentistry and demonstrated FKG UGM's commitment to maintaining high standards in education.
With the success of this expert lecture, FKG UGM continues to show its dedication to fostering a learning culture that supports creativity and innovation among residents, preparing them to become high-quality healthcare professionals.
