The Prosthodontics Specialist Dentistry Education Program Competency Exam (PPDGS) of FKG UGM, held on 29-30 June 2024, at Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, involved six leading prosthodontics specialist education centers in Indonesia. Universitas Gadjah Mada participated in this exam alongside Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Padjadjaran, and Universitas Sumatera Utara. The exam was attended by examiners from various universities, who are senior lecturers in the field of Prosthodontics and members of the Indonesian Prosthodontics Association.
The Prosthodontics Specialist Competency Exam consists of three types of exams: a computer-based theory exam (CBT), a skills exam (OSCE), and a case exam (SOCA). This exam is an essential milestone in the journey of prospective specialist dentists, serving as the culmination of their education to achieve excellence in the field of Prosthodontics.
FKG UGM’s Prosthodontics students achieved impressive results in this exam. drg. Jessica Regina, Sp.Pros. won 1st place in OSCE and SOCA and 2nd place in CBT. Meanwhile, drg. Jonathan Antono, Sp.Pros., earned 3rd place in OSCE and 3rd place in SOCA. Additionally, drg. Kenny Wijaya, Sp.Pros., received 2nd Runner-up in SOCA, drg. Yuli Tri Wijayanti, Sp.Pros., earned 1st Runner-up in OSCE, and drg. Dian Samuel, Sp.Pros., achieved 2nd Runner-up in OSCE.
This achievement demonstrates the dedication and hard work of FKG UGM students in meeting the highest standards in the field of specialist dentistry. This success aligns with the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG Goal 4: Quality Education, which aims to produce professionals who not only master knowledge and skills but are also ready to make significant contributions to the development of dentistry in Indonesia.
