FK-KMK UGM Integrated Health Post Joins “SENSASI”

“We usually set up five to six service stations at the Posbindu: registration, vital signs and anthropometry check, blood tests, and nutrition and physical activity consultations. At larger forums like this, we sometimes add eye or skin consultations by inviting specialists,” explained the organizing team.

Initially, the “Sehati” Posbindu (Integrated Health Post) was dedicated to the academic community of FK-KMK UGM. Today, it also serves two partner faculties: the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Pharmacy. The goal is to support the health of students, academic staff, and lecturers. Services include early detection of non-communicable diseases through blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and weight checks, as well as consultations on nutrition and general health.

The “Sehati” Posbindu promotes a healthy lifestyle and prioritizes preventive care. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Each session has received a positive response, allowing participants to check their health status while receiving guidance on healthier living.
More than 100 participants from the three faculties joined the latest health screening. Beyond campus, the Health Promoting University (HPU) Team also extends services to surrounding communities such as Caturtunggal and Condongcatur. In addition to the Posbindu, the HPU also runs the “Angkringan 8888” program, which provides free breakfast for students before starting daily activities. Both initiatives aim to improve health education and foster a supportive campus environment.

Blood tests for the academic community of FKKMK, FKG, and the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM conducted by Posbindu staff

At present, Posbindu services remain primarily for the internal UGM community, as part of each faculty’s HPU program. However, as a state university, UGM is also mandated to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, including community service. According to Dr. Dewi, outreach teams are regularly deployed to areas such as Terban, Sendowo, Gunungkidul, and Kulon Progo, among others.
