In her remarks, Dr. drg. Sri Budi Barunawati, M.Kes., Sp.Pros(K), shared her message to the graduates: “To all graduates, after leaving FKG UGM, you must dedicate your knowledge for the benefit of society. You must also uphold UGM’s values of being locally rooted, globally respected. UGM alumni are known as graduates who are down-to-earth and able to connect with communities to build the nation. Currently, dental specialists are still concentrated in Java, with shortages in remote regions (according to Ministry of Health data). Returning to your hometowns to serve is an important step toward expanding access to specialist dental care in Indonesia.”

During his address at the graduation ceremony, Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, SH., MM., Ph.D., stated: “All graduates today achieved cum laude, with GPAs above 3.75. One graduate, Dr. drg. Dyah Anindya Widyasrini, M.D.Sc., achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0. Today, you are officially alumni of FKG UGM – carry our alma mater’s good name with pride.” The Dean also highlighted the diverse origins of the graduates, ranging from Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Bondowoso, Surabaya, to Bali. Beyond clinical practice, graduates are also encouraged to continue their careers as lecturers at faculties of dentistry in their home regions. Closing his remarks, Prof. Suryono shared his guiding principle: “Do not wait for an example to move; move, and you will become the example.” .
