The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held a send-off ceremony for Specialist Conservative Dentists on Thursday, 24 October 2024, at Margono Soeradji Building. This event marked the completion of a rigorous academic journey while also signifying the beginning of their professional careers in conservative dentistry.
Attended by family members, friends, lecturers, and practitioners from various institutions, the event was a celebration of the graduates’ outstanding achievements. During the ceremony, the graduates shared reflections on their academic journey while receiving congratulations from those who had supported them throughout their studies.
In her speech, Dr. Drg. Tunjung Nugraheni, M.Kes., Sp.KG.(K), Head of the Conservative Dentistry Program, expressed high hopes for the graduates to continue contributing to improving dental healthcare quality in Indonesia. “As Specialist Conservative Dentists, you are expected to keep growing and making significant contributions to the advancement of conservative dentistry through a more sustainable and conservative approach,” she stated. Dr. Tunjung also emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and professionalism while preparing to face global challenges in the medical field.
This send-off ceremony was not only a celebration of the graduates' success but also a symbol of FKG UGM’s commitment to producing competent, ethical, and innovative specialist dentists. The graduates are expected to utilize their acquired knowledge to make tangible contributions to dentistry, both nationally and internationally.
The ceremony also aligns with FKG UGM’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by producing professionals capable of enhancing dental healthcare quality and Goal 4 (Quality Education) by providing excellent and innovative educational programs.
