OCTOBER 2025 TRAINING: DENTOMAXILLOFACIAL RADIOLOGY BASED ON CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CBCT)
Yogyakarta, 17 October 2025 — The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), once again organized a scientific activity to enhance the competencies of lecturers, clinicians, and students. The event, entitled “Advanced CBCT Training FKG UGM,” was held on 17 October 2025 at FKG UGM and featured national dentomaxillofacial radiology expert Dr. Menik Priaminiarti, DDS, Sp.RKG(K) as the main speaker.
The training was organized by the Department of Dental Radiology, FKG UGM, as part of ongoing efforts to support the development of modern radiology, particularly the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), which is increasingly becoming the standard in dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
In her presentation, Dr. Menik discussed key aspects of normal dentocraniofacial anatomy, CBCT image interpretation techniques, and identification of vital structures relevant to dental practice. Participants received in-depth explanations of cranial bone anatomy, the complex relationships within the craniofacial system, and the clinical significance of CBCT in achieving more precise and comprehensive evaluations.
The training was attended by lecturers, residents, and dental practitioners seeking to enhance their 3D radiographic analysis skills. In addition to lectures, participants engaged in interactive discussions and Q&A sessions on radiological cases commonly encountered in clinical practice.
Through this training, the Department of Dental Radiology, FKG UGM, aims to continuously strengthen academic and clinical competencies and serve as a national center of excellence in dentomaxillofacial radiology.
