The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) held the inauguration ceremony for 58 new dentists on Wednesday, 10 July 2024, at the Bulaksumur University Club Hotel UGM.
In his speech, Prof. drg. The ceremony began with the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," and the "Hymne Gadjah Mada," followed by the reading of the dental profession program certificates and the names of the new dentists by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FKG UGM.
The oath-taking was conducted by the Dean of FKG UGM, with the new dentists pledging to dedicate themselves to the welfare of humanity, uphold the dignity and noble traditions of the dental profession, and carry out their duties honorably and ethically.
“Today is not the end of a journey but the beginning of new challenges ahead. With the knowledge imparted by our teachers, we are ready to face the real world with all its dynamics and responsibilities,” said drg. Dinda Nur Safira, representing the new dentists, in her speech.
Additionally, the dental profession supports and advocates for gender equality, providing equal opportunities for both men and women to become dentists.
This achievement is expected to inspire the new dentists to dedicate themselves to serving the community. Thus, the inauguration ceremony aligns with the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Pillar 4 (Quality Education), Pillar 5 (Gender Equality), and Pillar 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
