Turnitin Service Guide – FKG UGM Library

In an effort to enhance academic integrity and support quality education, the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), has introduced a new initiative to promote the use of Turnitin, a software designed to identify content similarity in academic writing. This service is mandatory for all library users to check their manuscripts for similarity, ensuring the academic community adheres to high standards of originality and ethical writing.

The Turnitin service is accessible to all members of the Faculty of Dentistry at UGM. To use this service, users must submit their documents via email to perpustakaan_fkg@ugm.ac.id using their UGM account. The library staff will then conduct a thorough review and return the results within a maximum of 24 hours. This initiative not only fosters a culture of academic honesty but also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, which emphasizes quality education.

In line with this initiative, the Faculty of Dentistry also recommends three essential books that are highly valuable for students and professionals in the field. These books are not only crucial academic resources but also contribute to the overall growth of the dental profession. The recommended titles include:

“Dental Secrets”: A comprehensive guide covering various topics in dentistry, offering insights and practical knowledge essential for students and practitioners. This book is particularly useful for those preparing for exams or refreshing their knowledge of dental procedures.

“Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist”: A vital resource for understanding various diseases and conditions affecting oral health. This book equips dental hygienists with the necessary knowledge to identify and manage oral health issues effectively, improving patient care and outcomes.

“Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry”: A must-read for those interested in the latest advancements in periodontal therapy and dental implants. This book not only discusses clinical practice but also explores innovative techniques and technologies shaping the future of dentistry.

By integrating these recommended readings with the Turnitin service, the Faculty of Dentistry at UGM is taking significant steps toward fostering a culture of academic excellence and integrity. This initiative not only supports students' educational development but also contributes to broader goals in innovation and infrastructure within the field of dentistry, aligning with SDG Goal 9.

As the academic community continues to adopt these resources and services, the quality of education and research at the Faculty of Dentistry is expected to improve significantly. Commitment to academic integrity and continuous learning is essential for developing future dental professionals ready to tackle the evolving challenges of the healthcare landscape.
