drg. Ruslin, M.Kes, Ph.D.

drg. Ruslin, MKes, PhD, is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Biomedical Dental Science and currently serves as the Head of the Clinical Dental Science Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta. He is also an active dental practitioner in Yogyakarta. drg. Ruslin earned his dentist profession degree (drg.) in 2000. Shortly after, he pursued a Master's in Health (MKes) in 2003, followed by Doctoral studies, earning his PhD in 2008. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree with a dissertation titled "Effects of Apatite Crystals Addition Method on Basic Properties of Alpha-Tricalcium Phosphate Based Apatite Cement" in the field of Dental Science from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 2012.

From 2013 to 2015, drg. Ruslin served as a member of the Faculty Senate at the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM. As a researcher, he has focused on biomedical calcium phosphate and has conducted several studies on using herbal medicine in dentistry. His work has been published in international journals such as the Journal of Material Science: Material Medicine, with the paper titled "Effects of the Method of Apatite Seed Crystals Addition on Setting Reaction of Alpha-Tricalcium Phosphate Based Apatite Cement," and in national journals such as MKGK (Majalah Kedokteran Gigi Klinis), with the paper titled "Compressive Strength of Alpha-Tricalcium Phosphate Cement with Different Sodium Solution Compositions." drg. Ruslin's notable research projects have received funding from prestigious institutions like DAMAS FKG UGM and RTA UGM, and he is also a member of Asian Bioceramics.

Despite his busy schedule as an academic and clinician, drg. Ruslin makes time for his passion for tennis. His commitment to promoting health aligns with Universitas Gadjah Mada's Health Promoting University initiative, which aims to enhance the healthy behaviors of faculty, staff, and students, thereby increasing productivity and quality of life. In tennis, drg. Ruslin is an active Indonesian Medical Tennis Association (ATMI) member and has participated in various tournaments. His achievements include winning the doubles championship at the ATMI Tournament in Bali in 2022 and being the runner-up with the DIY Tennis Team in the ATMI team championship in Yogyakarta in 2023.
