Rosa Amalia has worked as a lecturer and researcher in the field of dentistry since 2005. Her bachelor's degree, professional dentistry degree, and master's degree in health were obtained from the Faculty of Dentistry, Gadjah Mada University, while her doctoral degree in epidemiology and oral health care was obtained from Rijks Universiteit Groningen, Netherlands.
The results of research in the field of dentistry have been widely published in national and international journals accredited by Scopus, including publications in the form of text books related to health and dental sciences published at home and abroad.
Apart from publications, scientific dissemination activities are carried out by actively participating in various national and international forums as a speaker and presenter in short lectures. Ownership of patents and copyrights, among others, related to caries risk assessment biomarkers, oral cavity environment simulation tools, as well as innovations in implementing dental health efforts in schools.
His research interests include early childhood caries, epidemiology, and behavioral dentistry. The courses taught are related to public dental health and preventive dentistry, such as surveying and epidemiology in the undergraduate dentistry and dental hygiene study programs, as well as several other courses, including those at the postgraduate level.
Another task he is currently carrying out is that of Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Dentistry, UGM.
