Dr. drg. Alma Linggar Jonarta, M.Kes.

Dr. drg. Alma Linggar Jonarta, M.Kes., has been a permanent lecturer at the Department of Oral Biology, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, since 1997. She completed her education at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, obtaining her Bachelor's and Dentist Profession degree (1995), Master's degree (2001), and Doctorate (2015). She received the Outstanding Student award during her Bachelor's studies and graduated cum laude during her Master's program.

As a researcher, she received the RISBIN-IPTEKDOK grant in 1998. From November 2013 to January 2014, she was awarded the Fujii-Otsuka Research Exchange Program grant to conduct research at the Dental School of Tokushima University, Japan. Her research interests revolve around hard tissue of the oral cavity, periodontal disease biopathology, and its effects on systemic conditions. Her scientific research has been published in accredited national and international journals.

In the field of community service, she is often invited as a speaker or moderator at seminars and webinars both nationally and regionally in Asia. The themes she frequently presents are related to dental and oral health and knowledge about cancer. In 2021, she spoke at the webinar "Health Education and Support Enhancement for Indonesian Migrant Worker Cancer Survivors at the Peduli Kasih Hong Kong Shelter" organized by the Peduli Kasih Hong Kong Foundation in collaboration with the Indonesian Consulate in Hong Kong, the Indonesian Cancer Foundation DIY branch, and the Indonesian Society of Hematology-Oncology Internal Medicine (Perhompedin) Yogyakarta branch, with viewership reaching 2600 people. She has been actively involved as a Field Supervisor for the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program at UGM since 2018. Additionally, she regularly contributes writings on dental and oral health to mass media for the general public.

She served as the secretary of the Doctoral Program in Dental Science at FKG UGM from 2016 to 2020, and the Doctoral Program remains her home base. Since 2020, she has been the Head of the Department of Oral Biology. Her dedication and care for students have been demonstrated through her role as a student counselor since 2010. She is a member of the Health Promoting Unit team at FKG UGM and has been appointed as the coordinator for mental health. Since 2017, she has facilitated the Successful Learning Training for New Students (PPSMB) at UGM.

She has a strong interest in music and writing and a talent for it. In 2021, she won first place in the poetry competition for the 72nd anniversary of UGM. In 2023, she secured third place in the UGM-themed songwriting competition for the 74th anniversary of UGM. She also mentors Dentachestra and Dentasvara, as well as the orchestra and choir groups of FKG UGM students.
