Bekti Nur’aini, S.Kp.G., M.P.H., often addressed as Bu Bekti, is a lecturer in the Faculty of Dentistry Biomedical Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM). Her academic journey began with completing her undergraduate (Bachelor of Dental Nursing) in the Dental Nursing Program at FKG UGM in 2013. Shortly after, she deepened her understanding by obtaining a master's in Public Health from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM in 2018.
Currently, Bu Bekti is focusing her research on microbiology. Her research experience includes dental hygiene, environmental health, and public health involving vulnerable groups such as the elderly and preschool children. She is involved in various community service activities, from promoting dental health in school children to older people.
Bu Bekti actively develops innovative learning approaches; one example is her participation in a team that successfully secured a grant for developing MOOC UGM through e-learning: open for knowledge sharing (eLOK) in 2021. Additionally, she is part of an interdisciplinary community service team that received a Community Grant from DPKM UGM in 2023. Besides her involvement in higher education, Bu Bekti also contributes to the UGM Prof. Soedomo Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) accreditation team.
Her desire to continue developing creative ideas in her research is also reflected in her national achievements during her academic years. Alongside her team, she achieved the highest recognition at the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in 2013. Her team received a gold medal in the Creative Work PKM Poster category by creating an innovative robot called Del-Arm or Dental Light Arm. This robot not only represents advanced technological achievement but also has a positive impact on dental healthcare services. These accomplishments prove Bu Bekti's dedication to integrating knowledge and creativity for societal well-being.
