Saturday, 16 August 2025 — The orientation and equipping of learning skills for new students of the Bachelor in Dentistry Program & IUP was delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., Ph.D., Head of the Bachelor in Dentistry Program, drg. Aryan Morita, M.Sc., Ph.D., Secretary of the Bachelor in Dentistry Program, drg. Pramudya Aditama, MDSc., Sp.Pros., and Head of the IUP FKG UGM, drg. Heriati Sitosari, MDSc., Ph.D. Prof. Rosa, as she is warmly called, stated, “The new paradigm of health services places patients as customers and the focus of services, which means patient satisfaction, safety, and comfort are the main priorities. Public expectations of health services include excellent services provided by dentists with professional and responsible attitudes and behavior. Dentists, as healthcare providers, must respect patients’ rights, be transparent, accountable, and pay attention to legal aspects.”
A total of 75 Academic Advisors (DPA) have been assigned, each responsible for 3–5 students of the 2025 cohort at FKG UGM. Each student is assigned one DPA, valid until the Dentist Profession Education Program (co-ass). The duties of DPAs include: Providing high-quality academic guidance. Encouraging students to become quality and successful learners. Guiding students in planning their learning process. Helping students internalize UGM’s values. Assisting students in developing intellectual character. Motivating students to become graduates who keep up with advances in science and technology.
