UGM Faculty of Dentistry Students Unveil the Potential of Non-Coding RNA

The seminar, which took place in person in Lecture Room D, was attended by supervisors, examiners, and other Master's students from the IKG program. It focused on the potential of Antisense Long Intergenic Non-Coding RNA 00673 in inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis in human tongue squamous cell carcinoma.

The seminar supervisor, Prof. drg. Supriatno, M.Kes., M.D.Sc., Ph.D., stated that Kadek’s presentation was well-executed and that the research is set to continue.

However, Prof. Supriatno emphasized the need for improvements, particularly in the use of proper language in writing and more detailed explanations of the research methods.

During the session, the examiners, including Dr. dr. Kartika Widayati, Sp.PD-KHOM, and drg. Heni Susilowati, M.Kes., Ph.D., provided valuable feedback regarding the research methodology presented. These suggestions are expected to strengthen the foundation of the study before advancing to the next stages.

“The proposal seminar presentation was well conducted, and the research will proceed. However, there needs to be improvements in language usage and detailed descriptions of the research methods,” said Prof. drg. Supriatno, M.Kes., M.D.Sc., Ph.D., the seminar supervisor.

Through this seminar, FKG UGM contributes to improving the quality of education (Goal 4) and research in dental science, aiming to produce professionals with the best knowledge and skills to support the advancement of dental science and global health.

By focusing on innovative research, PMDSU students at FKG UGM, like Kadek Gede Putra Wibawa, demonstrate that quality education plays a significant role in advancing science and healthcare.
