Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), hosted the UGM Dental Student Poster and Essay Competition (UDSPEC) as part of the "Depa's Infection 14" event. This competition attracted health science students from various universities at both national and international levels.
The registration for poster and essay submissions took place online from 1 June to 3 August 2024, with the judging process conducted online from 28 July to 9 August 2024. The finalists were announced on 11 August and subsequently participated in the final round held in person on 24 August 2024, at UGM.
In the essay category, Universitas Brawijaya secured 1st place, followed by Universitas Hasanuddin in 2nd place and Universitas Airlangga in 3rd place. Meanwhile, in the poster category, Universitas Gadjah Mada achieved 1st place, with Universitas Airlangga in 2nd place and Universitas Indonesia in 3rd place.
This competition not only provided a platform for students to showcase their academic and creative skills but also encouraged collaboration and innovation in the field of dentistry. Through this event, FKG UGM supports the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
